This is how the Common European Framework (CEFR) describes A2:
- Understands sentences and common expressions on everyday topics: family, shopping, the local area, work.
- Handles simple, routine situations that need a direct exchange of information on familiar topics.
- Describes in simple words their background, surroundings and immediate needs.
